You don’t want to pay for everything only to find out you can’t go because your passport didn’t arrive.

When you are putting aside money for the cruise, you will need enough to cover the cost of the cruise, and anything extra you might need while onboard. If you are making deposits, rather than paying in one lump sum, make certain you have them in on time, so you don’t lose any funds.

Again, depending on the country you are visiting, you may not be able to use your credit or debit cards, so you might want to either find out ahead of time, or just carry cash or travelers checks, just in case.

You should receive some paperwork from the cruise line, and make certain that you read everything thoroughly; to make sure you have everything done and that you are ready to go. Try to do most of your shopping before leaving on your cruise, as you will save a lot of money. When you travel, goods typically are more expensive, which can easily blow your budget if you aren’t careful.

You may also want to have someone keep an eye on your home and your animals while you are gone, or arrange for a kennel. You will also need to make certain you carry your prescriptions medications with you as well, as you won’t be able to get them onboard the ship.
